Korean construction companies visited SMI HYUNDAI

BONN, GERMANY - A group of 24 senior representatives of major Korean construction companies visited both the construction site of the new World Conference Center Bonn and the connected plenary hall of the former German Parliament. They were guided by the President Middle East of SMI HYUNDAI Mr Young Woong An, Mr Penderok and the senior construction manager Mr Hermann. After meeting in the main conference room of the old building and visiting the plenary hall they continued to the construction site in order to go with an elevator up to the 16th floor of the hotel which offers and impressive view on Bonn, the river Rhine, the construction site and the surrounding area of the UN-Campus. The UN-Campus is an aggregate of official UN buildings together with the old and new conference facilities conducted by SMI HYUNDAI Management GmbH. Finally the delegation entered the emerging main Conference hall of the new World Conference Center Bonn. The directors showed great interest in the business development and performance of SMI HYUNDAI in Bonn.
The new World Conference Center with a construction area of in total 75,000 sqm is emerging rapidly. Already end of September 2008 the shells of the Conference Center, hotel and garage will be completed. The high-tech crystal glass roof of the Conference Center is currently being set up and will be completed soon. It allows light to enter the building and it can be opened on manifold sides. The hall of the Conference Center itself will provide space for up to 5,000 Congress participants. It is already formed out and shows a vast area that may be filled with plenty of people. Also the hotel construction is emerging as construction workers are working to complete the skyscraper. The interior design and equipment of all new buildings will be finalized by the end of 2009.
